Fabric Marbling

  1. Dissolve two teaspoons (10 g) of Alum in 1 gallon (3.79 L) of warm water.
  2. Soak fabric in the solution until thoroughly wet.
  3. Wring out gently (do not rinse).
  4. Allow fabric to air dry. Once dry, it is ready for marbling. For best results, fabric may be ironed before use.

Paper Marbling

  1. Dissolve two teaspoons (10 g) of Alum in 1 quart (0.95 L) of water.
  2. Apply the solution by spraying or sponging a light, even coat onto the paper.
  3. Let the paper dry completely before marbling.

Caution

  • Keep dyes, paints, and chemicals away from children.
  • Avoid unnecessary skin contact.
  • Do not ingest.
