Encaustic Medium Pellets

Jacquard Encaustic Medium is a professional-quality 8:1 blend of white filtered beeswax and damar resin, specially formulated for encaustic applications.

The medium comes in convenient, easy-to-use pellets that can be applied directly for collage techniques or combined with encaustic paints and pigments for custom effects.

The addition of damar resin increases the melting temperature, making the wax more resistant to heat damage. Over time, the medium cures and hardens, creating a more durable finish. It can also be polished to a high gloss, adding depth and intensity to artworks while preventing blooming—the whitish haze that sometimes appears on wax surfaces.

While both beeswax and encaustic medium are naturally translucent, pure beeswax alone will not retain its translucency, making this blend essential for long-lasting clarity.
