Solarfast Wash for Solarfast Prints

Jacquard SolarFast Wash is a specially formulated concentrated detergent designed to remove any undeveloped SolarFast dye from paper or fabric after exposure. Proper washing is essential to reveal crisp, permanent prints and prevent unwanted background staining.

Before washing, bring your exposed print indoors and away from direct light, then remove the negative. For machine-washed textiles, use 2–3 capfuls of SolarFast Wash on the hottest wash cycle the fabric allows.

When hand washing paper or fabric, submerge the item in the hottest tap water possible and add 1–2 capfuls of SolarFast Wash. Keep fresh water flowing over the piece for at least 10 minutes to ensure all undeveloped dye is fully removed.
