Screen Ink Discharge Additive helps achieve bright, vibrant screened colours on dyed dark fabrics without laying down an undercoat of white ink. Simply add to the screen ink, screen and steam. This process helps retain a softer hand on fabric than is achievable with multiple layers of ink and reduces the amount of screening necessary. Works only on dyed fabrics. We recommend testing to ensure that the dye used in your fabric is dischargeable.

Directions for Use

Add 7% by weight to Jacquard Screen Inks (2 tsp/4 oz container) and mix thoroughly. Screen image and let it sit for 30 minutes, allowing the ink to dry slightly. Steam iron at the highest temperature appropriate for the fabric for 1-3 minutes (or until the image is fully developed). Inks can also be cured/activated immediately after printing in an industrial dryer for screen printers at the highest appropriate temperature for fabric.

Note: Steam ironing is recommended for best results. The viscosity of ink can be affected by the Screen Ink Discharge Additive. As with all discharge systems, this product will only work on substrates dyed with "dischargeable" dyes.

CAUTION: A very strong odour is given off during the steaming process. Contact with the eyes and skin may cause irritation. Ingestion may result in gastric disturbance. Inhalation of vapours while ironing may result in respiratory irritation. Wear an appropriate organic vapour mist respirator if necessary. Use in a well-ventilated area. Keep this product away from children.
